Jamie arrived exactly at the arranged time and immediately got to work. He was friendly and helpful throughout and explained what he was doing. By a logical process Jamie discovered that the main problem with the computer was self inflicted by a lack of patience on my part. Having sorted this out he then updated the the system and applied various tweaks to improve the start up time. He left me with sufficient information for me to apply some more updates and to enable a small program "Bonjour" which Apple requires to interface with my ipad.

Peter was very friendly and able to explain my problem in a language I understood rather than tech speak and he was very polite when he saw the inside of my computer….just offering to Hoover it out!
Even though he didn’t have the exact part we felt I needed, he was able to leave me with a temporary that both solved my problem and provided an upgrade/improvement and he has promised to return with the required part within 3 or 4 days.
Initially the hourly rate seems to be expensive, but when you get the quality of experience and service that Peter supplies it turns out to be worth every penny, I just wish there was a PC Pal in Portsmouth to help my parents!!

I had problems with the printer and spoke to Jeff during the weekend. I decided that the best way forward would be to instal a new printer which I had bought some time ago.

This is the second time I have used Phil at PC Pal, and as with his first visit to me he was excellent and soon had my laptop working again, unfortunately my laptop developed a different fault sometime later (due to old age)but it was no problem for Phil as he got me up and running again very quickly.
Because of the age of my then laptop (8 years old) he suggested that at sometime in the future I should consider upgrading my old XP laptop for perhaps Windows 7, this I did recently and I am glad I took Phil’s advice as Windows 7 is so much better than my dated XP. Phil even gave me some instruction on the new Windows 7 software and installed the print driver for me – wirelessly. He also advised backing up my files regularly – which I have never done, he even suggested good models/memory size/hard drive’s and what to go for as I had no idea what was best suited to my workload.
All in all excellent advice from a very competent engineer.

PC Pal (and Phil) are in my opinion Highly recommended for home or office user.

Within 2 hours of my call, Peter was on my doorstep. Within 5 minutes of booting up my computer he had identified the problem. In under an hour, he had it running better than it ever has!

Chris was very helpful and obviously had a lot of knowledge. He set about fixing the problem straight away explaining what he was doing and what my problem was (i’d picked up a nasty virus whilst online). Chris fixed the problem then went onto checking that my laptop was totally clean of any other viruses. He changed my anitvirus software for me when there was an issue with it re-installing. The new software he also believed was a better programme that would work better with my laptop. He even made suggestions on what order my many adaptors in my phone socket should be in to get the best out of them! A very very friendly and helpful service all round, if i had another problem with my laptop i would go to PC Pal first as a solution.

On this occasion it was a really annoying and potentially harmful trojan virus called "searchqu" that had hijacked my internet explorer browser and caused it to run excessively slowly, blocked access to certain sites and other annoying things. Mr. Skipper helped us with a very frustrating situation, we had been trying to install Virgin Media Security for the last four weeks, with two to three phone calls a week, we contacted Mr. Skipper who told us that he would be able to come to our house on the 20th January, he phoned to let us know that he would be at our house in half an hour, when he arrived I contacted Virgin-that was another two phone calls, Mr. Skipper even spoke to them himself and he even told us it was very frustrating speaking to them. He tried all always to get Virgin Media Security installed, no luck. However he did install a security system for us. If we have any other problems regarding our lap-top we will contact him, due to his friendleness. and we would have no hesitation in reccomending him to other people.

On Monday, 8th November 2010 I phoned PC Pal to request a visit by your engineer, David Allen, who is familiar with my two computer set up. Apart from that he is the best IT specialist I have ever known and I look on him as a friend. My wife and I look forward to his visits and he has our total confidence. I cannot speak too highly of David. But the Call Centre staff were very indifferent and I was transferred to another person three times before I was asked any questions. Even then I had to repeat four times the reason why I needed a visit. I asked for David Allen personally to come but I was told that this could not be guaranteed and, obviously, the Call Centre did not know his name. The Call Centre has taken away all of the personal service I used to enjoy as a customer. Because of David I shall stay loyal to PC Pal but I am sure that you will lose customers and I would be hesitant from now on to recommend you to potential customers.
